Climate

The climate of the described area is transitional from continental to Atlantic. Temperatures generally reach the national average. The lower ones are found only on the border of Mazovia and Podlasie. The average temperature in January is approx. -3°C, July approx. 18°C. The vegetation period of the plants continues 200-220 days, the longer is in the West. parts of the area covered. Annual rainfall is approx. 550-600 mm, and smaller ones are only in the Warsaw Basin – below 500 mm.

The number of days with a negative temperature on the Celsius scale is from 35 do 60.

Snow cover keeps from 50 do 80 days.

West winds prevail. Whirlwinds are relatively rare, storms and hailstorms. Most of the windless days are in the Warsaw Basin.
